Program Director Lake Hughes

Phoenix House California is currently
seeking a Program Director to work in our Lake Hughes Juvenile Probation
Program. The services provided are structured cognitive-behavioral mental
health services that target criminogenic risk factors. Treatment is focused on: building noncriminal
alternative behaviors in risky situations, building problem-solving self-management,
anger management and coping skills, reducing antisocial cogitation, recognizing
risky thinking and feeling, adopting a reform and/or ant criminal identity, reducing
association with criminals, and enhancing association with pro-social people.
The goal of the Phoenix House California Juvenile
Probation Program is to address offenders? criminogenic needs prior to release
and to facilitate a successful transition back to their communities in order to
reduce their likelihood of re-offending.
The Program Director plans, organizes,
directs and coordinates aspects of the program; indirectly supervise all staff,
develops, interprets, and administers policies and procedures governing the
programs, and administers appropriate strategies for recruitment, selection,
and retention of staff.
The Program
Director shall:
+ Oversee
the evaluation, selection, hiring and training of the Contractor staff;
+ Coordinate
invoicing;
+ Submit the
Contractors Monthly Progress Report and the Weekly Red Flag Report to the PA;
+ Manage the
placement of Participants into community-based transitional care services;
+ Responsible
for the overall administration of the day-to-day delivery of program services;
+ Work with
the CCII and appropriate institution staff in planning, direction and
coordination of all Program related facility activities;
+ Ensure
that a monthly program service activities plan is posted for the Participants
+ Responsible
for the overall supervision and oversight of all Contract staff;
+ Responsible
for fiscal monitoring and expenditures
+ Responsible
for implementation of systems and monitoring techniques to assure Agreement compliance;
+ Review
Participant treatment files;
+ Evaluates
staff performance and provide applicable coaching and trainings;
+ Assure compliance
with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) policies
and procedures; and
+ Works collaboratively with the CDCR Program and institution staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
+ The Program Director shall meet one of the following
requirements:
+ Master?s Degree in Social Sciences or related
fields with at least one (1) year of administrative experience inSingle-Level Substance Use and Disorder Treatment (SUDT)
program; or
+ Bachelor?s Degree in Social Sciences or related
field and at least two (2) years of administrative experience working in
a SUDT program.
EXPERIENCE:
+ Administrative experience working in a SUDT program.
+ In the event that the Program Director provides direct
substance use services to the Participants, the Program Director must be
certified as an Alcohol and Drug (AOD) counselor, with a certifying
organization recognized by DHCS.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
+ Knowledge of the dynamics of alcohol/drug related
problems and their impact upon patients and their families;
+ The social factors involved in substance abuse;
+ The principles and techniques of rehabilitation
counseling and their application to individuals possessing chemical
dependencies;
+ Community resources available to persons with
alcohol/drug related problems;
+ The physiological and psychological effects of
chemical dependency;
+ General social, economic and health problems;
+ Ability to interview and counsel;
+ Establish and maintain effective working
relationships with others;
+ Communicate effectively with others, both orally and
in writing;
+ Modern principles of training and education;
+ Program evaluation methods and report writing;
+ Ability is required to conduct several projects
simultaneously;
+ Analyze complex problems and adopt an effective
course of action;
+ Effectively supervise the work of others.
+ Valid
California (CA) Driver?s License.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
